I need to create a rule for testing the duplicate vendors in a table.

The evaluation must take the Tax ID number of the vendors and test if there are more of one vendor with the same Tax ID number.

I tried to use the sentence "unique" inside the Advanced editor, but didn't work.

Can you help me with this rule?

In the CMC, when clicking on "Integrator Sources", in the "Information Services" section under "Metadata Management", I get the error message "An unexpected problem occurred while decoding JSF component {0}" and the Integrator Sources view doesn't open.  This has worked in the past because I setup Data Services as an integrator source a couple of months previously.

Any help appreciated.

Hi. We have recently moved our Vendor project from the development are to the Production area. The project was therefore exported from Development and imported into the Production project. Views are created across tables and rules are bound to these views. I run any tasks to calculate the scores and the tasks complete successfully. I then go to the Rule Results tab in the work space and open any view to look at columns with failed records. I then clink on the column with failed data and it shows the failed records on the right hand side of the screen. I then click on view more failed data and get the following error "Failed data processing did not complete". I can find no link on this error. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm currently performing a Data Health Check (DHC) for a German customer.

Within that DHC I want to use the Data Cleansing Advisor (DCA) for address cleansing and matching. But unfortunately I have some problems with that.

In my environment the repositories for IPS, DS and IS were created in a MS SQL Server database. The embedded SQL Anywhere database wasn't installed.

But I found out that the staging database for the DCA is - nevertheless - a SQL Anywhere database (located under C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObject Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\DCA-SA\Data as DCA.db).

Before I started that database (using dbsrv12.exe from the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinesObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\DCA-SA\bin64) I got the error message "Unable to access staging tables for cleanse operation" when creating a Data Cleansing solution (seems to be the same as in SAP note 2143417 even if I'm using IS version 4.2 SP04 - unfortunately no solution is provided in the note).

After I started the SQL Anywhere database on Friday I was able to create a Data Cleansing solution and analyze the results.

On Monday I wanted to refine the Data Cleansing solution but I saw that its status in IS is "locked" and I'm neither no longer able to open the existing Data Cleansing solution nor create a new one (for a new one I got again the error message "Unable to access staging tables for cleansing solution" ).

I even upgraded the environment to IS version 4.2 SP05 but the Data Cleansing solution is still locked.

Can you tell me what I can do to unlock the existing Data Cleansing solution?

Btw: in my environments (IS version 4.2 SP04 and IS version 4.2 SP05) there is no "unlock" option available --> see attached screen shot

And I used the administrator user so that I don't assume that it is an authorization problem.

Can you tell me which user name and password is used for the Data Cleansing Advisor SQL Anywhere database?

I would like to analyze that database but for that I need the user name and password which must be set in the background during the installation.

Is it possible to "switch" the DCA database to another database server (e.g. MS SQL Server)?

How can I do that?

Since the DHC is very urgent I would appreciate a quick response.

Is there any other option to change this server name with out creating new connection.

Example: Previously the server name is "ABC" and now i have to change it to "XYZ"

We are using Information Steward 4.2 - Data Insight - Rules.

We have successfully tested Uniqueness / Duplicate checks in SAP for Customer Master and Vendor Master using

'lookup' function to lookup SAP table in Information Steward Rule.

Example of lookup function :

lookup('HR', 'dbo.Orders', 'customer_name', $name, 'order_type', 7, 'order_id', null)

Result: Returns the column order_id if there is a row with customer_name=$name and order_type=7 from table HR.dbo.Orders

Now we are trying to set up Uniqueness / Duplicate checks in SAP for Material Master & its characteristics.

i.e  We want to check in SAP if another material with same characteristics exists

But since Material Characteristics data is not available in a single table and flat format like other tables, we are not able to use a table directly for the Lookup function in Information Steward.

Has anyone implemented such a lookup for duplicate check of Material Characteristics in Information Steward with SAP ?

I have a colleague working on an Information Steward proof of concept for pulling master data from HANA.  He asked me to setup a HANA user for Information Steward to connect and read from our default schema that contains all tables replicated from SAP via SLT.  Let's call this SAP_SCHEMA.  Let's call the Information Steward user and schema INFO_STEWARD.  The INFO_STEWARD user has full access to it's own INFO_STEWARD schema and I also gave him SELECT_USER role against the SLT schema named SAP_SCHEMA.  But when they run their job they get error that they can not CREATE temporary table against SAP_SCHEMA.

Normally we never allow any user except SLT user to create tables in the SAP_SCHEMA.  All users have SELECT only.  But as a test I humored him and gave POWER_USER role against SAP_SCHEMA, had him run his load job and then I monitored M_TEMPORARY_TABLES.  Suddenly his job started working and I watched 500+ temporary tables fill up M_TEMPORARY_TABLES, however they all listed the temp table schema as INFO_STEWARD schema.  So I'm completely puzzled; if all the temp tables are created in it's own INFO_STEWARD schema then why does it need CREATE against SAP_SCHEMA??  My only theory is that it truly created a single temp table in SAP_SCHEMA but it happened and dropped so fast that I could not see it with my own eyes.  Whereas the other 500+ I could see sitting there for several minutes before they were dropped.

Are there any Information Steward users out there whom can explain to me why it would need CREATE against the SLT schema where our source tables live?  I'm hoping it's some sort of configuration problem on the Information Steward side as we do not want to doll out create access.  Other system users we have such as MicroStrategy only have read access to the SLT schema and create temp tables fine in their own MicroStrategy schema.

I ran into an InvalidLicenseKeyException while running a Match Review Configuration in SAP Information Steward. I am able to run successfully a profiling task or a data quality task and I was wondering whether a particular license key is required for running a Match Review Configuration.

I read that this was an issue with SAP Information Steward 4.1, but I am on SAP Information Steward 4.2 (Version 14.2.1.615)

I re-checked the lincense key in the CMC and everything seemed okay (Again profiling task or a data quality task are running successfully)

My job ran successfully in data services and the Review table got populated with review that review is required in SAP Information Steward and while running the Match Review Configuration to create the corresponding task, I got this error.

My server landsacpe is as below -

Server 1 - BOE 4.0 SP4, DS 4.1 SP1 APS services, DS 4.1 SP1Management Console 

Server 2 - Full DS 4.1 SP1 install

Server 3 - MS Sql server dataase

I was expecting to do a "Primary" install on Server 2 so that all my EIM components reside on the same box along with DQ cleansing packages, but since it does not have any BI or IPS installed, install is getting errored out. I really doesn't want to do primary install of IS on Server 1, becasue that will also require installing DS 4.1 SP1 Job server component on that server.

So what are my options in this case?

When I read documentation on Data Services it seems it
includes similar things as Information Steward for quality management. Looks
like, at some point SAP decided to make a new product called Information Steward?
Is it correct, so what is in Information Steward that is not in Data Services
and same the other way (what is in Data Services which is not in Information
Steward). My company is going to set Information Steward next year, want to get

I would like to have sugestions and help to solve a problem in IS 4.2.

I've created a view from two tables, joined together with the key from each one.

Then i've binded the rule with the view (mentioned above) created and calculated score for it.

The calculation is successful, however when i try to export all failed data i have the following error:

"Encountered an error while exporting the data. View the lof file (DPR-10126)"

When exporting failed data from calculations made directly to the datasources i do not encounter any problem, but when i try to export all data to CSV file (not only the 500 results limit) i have this kind of error.

However, when i visualize the data from the view created, it is also possible to export to csv file.

Resuming, the error occurs only when exporting all failed data from the view.

Can anyone help with this issue?

Hi all,

I have configured a scorecard in Information Steward. The failed records are stored in a database (Microsoft SQL Server 2008)

and it's possible to show these failed records via "view failed data" in Information Steward.

When I try to "view more failed data" as a next step, I'm getting the following error:

I have a requirement to setup additional metapedia approver groups so that the appropriate user/group is notified rather than all Metapedia Approvers.

I have tried to create a sub group under Metapedia Approver with the result that it does not show up on the available list when selecting the Term Approver.

  We have a requirement to extract all the BOE user group-user list to excel/flat file

I looked under User Group in Metadata Management and this view displays the Application user count group wise but I would like to get a consolidated list in one go rather than individually selecting a group to view the user names. I also selected few groups to Object Tray and then tried to export to Universe/CWM hoping predefined semantic structure will be created, but getting an error there.

lastly, I looked under 'Reports' but couldn't find any predefined report for user list group wise

Kindly advise on how we can extract the consolidated BOE user group-user list from Information Steward. You help is really appreciated.

I am using Information Steward 4.1 for conducting data profiling activities. The application was running fine last week. Today, all of a sudden, the IS profiling tasks fail with an error : No jobserver in the server group: ISJobServerGroup available to run the job. -- [please see below for the full log file from IS]

The database is Oracle. No change anywhere to my knowledge.

I have tried the following -

1. Delete the existing IS job server using server manager and re-configure

2. Re-sync the repository with the IS job server.

3. Stop/ Start services in central configuration manager.

The jobs in Data services run alright. No issues there. Just that the Information steward no longer works.. Any thoughts ?

I have Installed Information Steward 4.2 SP1. But there is no PERSON_FIRM_EN cleansing package under published cleansing package. previous versions  I was having the PERSON_FIRM_EN cleansing package under published cleansing package. 

In this version there is no more PERSON_FIRM_EN cleansing package in information steward ?

Is it available only in SAP Data services only from this version?

is any installation problem if yes how can I resolve this issue.
