Error while running task on ECC table

Hello,

 

When ever i run a (profile/rule) task on any table from ECC in Information Steward, it's failing and is generating an error log as shown below. But, i am able to view data when i click on "View data" icon after selecting the imported table.

 

error: Data flow <DF_Rule_NP_142_1> received a bad system message. Message text from the child process is <￯﾿ﾘ￯ﾾﾮC￯﾿ﾷR&#127;==========================================================

Collect the following and send to Customer Support:

1. Log files(error_*, monitor_*, trace_*) associated with this failed job.

2. Exported ATL file of this failed job.

3. DDL statements of tables referenced in this failed job.

4. Data to populate the tables referenced in the failed job. If not possible, get the last few rows (or sample of them) when the job failed.

5. Core dump, if any, generated from this failed job.

Did anyone face the similar issue? if yes, could you help me by providing some inputs to resolve this.

IS Data Insight File Connection -- spaces in file path?

Trying to create a File Connection in the CMC for Information Steward, I put in the full directory path which includes spaces (such as \\fileshare\folder1\folder 2) and I get "Directory path is either invalid or is not accessible ADM-10028".  When I back up to just the top level folder without spaces (\\fileshare\folder1), I get a successful connection.  I tried replacing the spaces with %20 and enclosing the entire directory path in quotes and <> and nothing works.  I'm 100% sure the service account has access to this file share because I can access it from the IS/CMC server when logged in as the service account.  I can't find anything in the admin guide specifying that the directory path can't have spaces.  Is there another way to specify the directory path?

SAP IS Option : for getting more than 500 rows in output

Folks, Can anyone tell me if there is a work around to get more than 5oo output/failed rows in IS for Data insight ( Data Quality & Profiling )  ??

 

Is there some setting we need to perform in CMC or probablly if some patch deployment needed  ?

 

 

any input is appericiable.

Information steward data cleansing

Dear All,

 

I am new in Information steward space.

 

Can someone please explain how cleansing of data can be achieved through IS?

Do we essentially need the BODS jobs to be created to clean up the data.

Failed data processing did not complete

Hi. We have recently moved our Vendor project from the development are to the Production area. The project was therefore exported from Development and imported into the Production project. Views are created across tables and rules are bound to these views. I run any tasks to calculate the scores and the tasks complete successfully. I then go to the Rule Results tab in the work space and open any view to look at columns with failed records. I then clink on the column with failed data and it shows the failed records on the right hand side of the screen. I then click on view more failed data and get the following error "Failed data processing did not complete". I can find no link on this error. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Issues/Errors with BW/ECC Sources

Hello,

 

I am on client site and we are having a difficult time resolving, or even isolating the issues we are facing with BW/ECC sources in Information Steward.IS is version 4.1 SP2.

 

The connections have been successfully established and validated to both the BW and ECC source system, but the client is experiencing issues when trying to view/import objects from these sources.

 

Can someone please advise on the following issues? The client needs this resolved ASAP.

 

Issue 1 - (ECC Source) An error occurs when trying to access extractors (Please see attached screenshot!)

Issue 2 - (BW Source) Extractors are not visible when fully expanding their parent folders to lowest level. 'Tables' folder does not appear as it should (Please see attached screenshot!)

 

The Functions (files) are the correct version and appear to be installed properly.

 

If anyone can shed any light on either of these issues, please advise. You would be doing this project and myself a great service.

Scorecard error: Index: X Size: X

We have a Data Insight Project with 4 Key Data Domains with dozens of rules each.  WhenI go into "Scorecard" view I immediately get an error showing the attached message. (sometimes the numbers change, I got Index: 15, Size: 15 and Index: 3, Size: 3 at different points). Once I click ok on the error, I can proceed to review the scorecard results and the error is only re-created when I click on 1 of the 4 KDD. The major problem is that the scorecard summary view (and the "Share" links) will not generate, it just shows a blank screen. The only way I have found to eliminate this error completely is to delete the entire KDD causing the errorand re-create it, which destroys all scorecard history and takes a lot of time. 


We had this happen a few days ago after a task failure, but I re-created the KDDs that were corrupted and it was fine for 1 day, and then today again we have 1 of 4 KDD corrupted, all rule and scorecard calculation tasks finished successfully in the last 24 hours, so I have no idea why I show up again this morning and it is corrupted? 


Has anyone seen this error before? 


I submitted a support ticket to SAP 2 days ago and have not heard back. 


We are running Info Steward 4.2 (14.2.1.220).

Unable to see .UNX Universes in IS 4.1 SP2

Hello,

 

My customer is unable to see .unx type universes in Information Steward 4.1 SP2, but is able to see the .unv types.

 

I have seen this issue posted a few times and it is referenced in the version's release notes, but I can't find a SAPNote or solution anywhere. I assume a patch or note needs to be applied, but I need a specific solution.

 

Please help!

trying to establish excel as a file format

Hi

 

I am trying to establish .xls or .xlsx as a "file format" in information steward. I can't get Information steward to recongnise either of these files. It can see .csv files. (when i press browse in file format editor and select the source to map from I can't see any excel documents.) Any advice?

Input additional records are not parsed by Cleansing Package Builder

Hi ,

 

I have created the cleansing package builder  using the below sample data.

 

 

large mushrooms sausage pepperoni stuffed crust

medium deluxe thin crust

small vegetarian handtossed

personal hamburger bacon cheese pan

large cheese thin crust

 

 

After creating the cleansing package  I generated the atl file and imported into Data Services.

 

Now I added one additional record . Now my input is  as shown below

handtossed sausage large

 

 

But after execution of the first 5 records parsed correctly but last record is not parsed . It moved to extra record and  generated the quality codes R001,I901.

 

 

In the last record  handtossed already there in the 3rd record . large is in first record.  It should give only sausage as extra/additional. 

 

 

 

But why last record is not parsed by the transform.

 

How I am going to fix this issue.

the client can not create a scorecard after upgrading Information Steward 4.1 to SP2 from SP1

the client can not create a scorecard after upgrading Information Steward 4.1 to SP2 from SP1.  The error is generic.  Error in application contact system Administrator UIM 10030.

 

Is there a Note somewhere for this issue.

Publish Information Steward Scorecard on MS Sharepoint

We are trying to publish IS Scorecard on Sharepoint without prompting further for any logon. Currently we are using IS4.1 and could get the link to share a scorecard. Could someone please provide inputs about how to publish an IS Scorecard on Sharepoint.

Information Steward rule bindings - Multiple Tables

Hi

 

Ive set up a connection between SAP ECC6 and IS 4.2 SP1.  I am trying to create a rule that will bind to both MARA and MARC in ECC6.

 

I set up the first two parameters to connect to fields in MARC, but when I try to connect the third parameter to a field in MARA, it tries to change the previous two to MARA also.

 

Am I trying to do the impossible?

 

How would I do this?
